Shawn started in the business in the summer of 2011 working with Citi Group in Miami, FL. He then decided to move closer to his family in Columbus, OH and was recruited to work for Nationwide. Shawn started as a territory manager for 7 wholesalers across the annuity, life insurance, and retirement plans channels. He was quickly promoted in less than a year to the sales desk to be a mutual fund wholesaler covering California financial advisors. Within a year of being a wholesaler, Shawn became the team lead of the mutual funds sales desk which he attributes to his consultative approach and consistently managed a top recognized territory.
Shawn left wholesaling to work as an independent financial advisor with AXA. With AXA, Shawn focused on legacy planning and business retirement plans. He had passion in this space as he grew up on a family farm and understands how much impact sound financial strategies have on family businesses and their future generations. While working independently as an advisor Shawn was having success, though he quickly learned that he wanted to go back to a business to business consulting role. Joining Bridgemark Strategies gave Shawn the opportunity to combine his industry experience and desire to work with advisors in a truly consultative manner.
Shawn has his BS/BA in Economics from Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, SC. Shawn is an active alumni of his fraternity and also volunteers locally for multiple charities and his church. In his free time, Shawn enjoys hiking, traveling, snowboarding, golfing and playing tennis.
