Corey Walen started his career as a wholesaler at Lord Abbett. After graduating college, Corey knew he wanted to be in financial services as his father was a successful wirehouse and later independent advisor. After Lord Abbett, Corey spent five years with LPL recruiting advisors and rias to their platform and then two years with Ameriprise recruiting franchisees and employee advisors. This experience provided Corey with a deep understanding and knowledge to be able to help advisors that are considering any possible solution ranging from employee to independent to ria.

In his 7 total years of recruiting with two of the largest firms in the industry, Corey helped over 400 financial advisors explore, analyze and decide the best business solution for themselves and their clients. Corey’s greatest strength is his ability to help advisors narrow down the vast universe of options for financial advisors which is what led to his decision to join Bridgemark Strategies.

Corey joined Bridgemark Strategies to be able to evolve the manner he worked with advisors from a recruiter to a consultant. Working with Bridgemark Strategies, Corey can now agnostically help and guide advisors selecting from over 100 different solutions including large national W-2 or independent broker-dealers to rias, custodians or smaller boutique b-ds.

When not working with clients, Corey enjoys golfing, hiking, shooting, spending time with his family, and Clemson Football. Corey has a Bachelor of Business Management from Clemson University. He lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife Elizabeth, and their children, Madeline and Connor.
